Welcome to the Baby Unit

  • Welcome to the Baby Unit

    Meet the team:

    Amy Parker- Baby Unit Supervisor

I began my Merryvale journey in August 2002 as soon as I gained my NNEB level 3 qualification. I have had experience in all rooms and have worked in each for many years gaining knowledge and learning new things. In April 2019 I became Baby Unit supervisor. I am responsible for a key group of children, planning for their next steps and tracking their development. I am also the settings student supervisor.

Tonisha Glass – Baby Unit practitioner

I started my Merryvale journey in December 2017, as an apprentice working towards Level 2; I am now working towards my Level 3 qualification. I became a practitioner in the Baby Unit in April 2019, and I am responsible for a small group of key children.

    Molly Calder- Baby Unit Practitioner

I started working at Merryvale in March 2016 and hold a level 3 diploma in childcare. I have gained lots of experience and knowledge with all age groups as I have had the chance to work in all the rooms which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I am currently working in the baby unit which I am responsible for a small group of key children, I will plan for their next steps and track their development.

Please find staff photos on the staff board, the room door, and the key group wall.

    General Information

We complete and send home daily reports each day which include everything your child does throughout the day such as eating, sleeping, nappy changes and activities your child takes part in.

We complete learning journeys for your child that you can look through whenever you would like to, this is for you to see what your child does throughout their time at nursery and to see how they are coming along in their development. In the room we have a next step display and planning board that include all children’s next steps that we work towards over the term.
